Pictures 349 and 350.

Double postcard views of Canal Street, both about 1960, looking toward the uptown side.  The upper view is at the Carondelet/Bourbon intersection, and the lower is at St. Charles/Royal.  Each picture features a Canal car stopped for the traffic light, car 928 in the upper view.  Many business signs can be seen, including Sutton's Fairyland and department store D. H. Holmes (on the right), Stevens Clothes (center), L. & L. Furs and Godchaux's (at the left), the Loews and Saenger theaters, and several hotels: the Roosevelt (upper center), the New Orleans (right center, in the distance), and the Monteleone (at the right, with an arrow pointing right “one block”). — Collection of Earl Hampton (upper), Grant L. Robertson (lower)
