This is a work in progress, begun back in the early 1970s when I had no
time to devote to it. Now that I am retired, I am making some headway.
As you can see, I have set myself an ambitious outline (above). I
have no idea how long this is going to take to complete. I only hope
God gives me enough time to do the job. Please bear with me as portions
of this outline begin to be filled in.
When I began in 1974, I wrote the following dedication:
To my wife and young daughter,
who are not “trolley nuts,”
for their patience,
and to my two young sons,
who are,
for their enthusiasm.
Well, as you can imagine, my sons and daughter are grown now, and some
of them have even presented my wife and me with grandchildren.
So now I dedicate this work not only to my wife and children, but also
to my young grandchildren. Perhaps they will someday understand my
interest in those funny looking machines called streetcars and trolleys.
