Picture 18-3.

Here is a transfer for a passenger on the Soldiers Home & West English line to transfer to another line to complete his journey.  This one was apparently not actually used.  In normal use, the issuing conductor was supposed to punch the line to which the passenger intended to transfer, the month and date (unfortunately, the transfer gives us no clue about the year), and the time to the quarter-hour.  Curiously enough, there is no obvious way to indicate a.m. or p.m.
