Canal cars proceed in rows on the inner tracks as a St. Charles car turns off Canal from the outer track onto St. Charles Street around 8:30 a.m.  The St. Charles car has its rear headlight on, probably forgotten in the cloudy gloom the last time the car changed ends at the uptown end of the line. — R.
