During most of the year 2013, track rebuilding on the St. Charles line made it necessary to limit streetcar service on that line to the section from Canal Street up to Jefferson Avenue, with buses taking passengers the rest of the way to the terminal at Carrollton and Claiborne.  Access to the car barn at Carrollton Station was still possible, as at least one track was kept in service at all times.  During the summer, it became more efficient to move the 900-series Perley Thomas cars to Canal Station and dispatch the St. Charles line from there.  Here is a September 10, 2013 view of car 954 pulling out of Canal Station into Canal Street, heading in to begin the day's service on the St. Charles line.
