The cab and instruments at one end of the test car.  Although it was always intended for test purposes, its interior seems to have been constucted with many of the luxury touches found on typical interurban passenger cars.  Note, for example, the woodwork above the floor, the ceiling lights, and the clock.  This suggests that the car was a “stock” car fitted out to UI specifications.  The handle on the hand brake was later replaced with a horizontal wheel. — University of Illinois Library Archives
